  • kim laughed, had fun and loves kayaking

"I own two kayaks because I went kayaking with Sassy Sisters Kayaks. Julie was the guide. I loved being on the water so much my husband and I got kayaks.

It was AMAZING and Julie’s enthusiasm was contagious. I never kayaked before and was nervous. “Did I have the strength to be successful? How far would I have to go outside of my comfort zone?  Will it be fun?”

Well, I had nothing to worry about. Julie went at my pace and encouraged me to try some techniques that made the experience even more enjoyable. She explained the ins and outs of kayaks and how to make the skiff do what you want it to do. I always felt safe while at the same time experiencing joy outside of my preconceived bubble. Plus, it was fun beyond belief! On that trip we saw a leather back turtle, pelicans, jumping fish, geese, a beaver dam, and dragon flies galore. On a subsequent journey with Sassy Sister’s we journeyed down a creek and Julie was very mindful of all hazards that we may encounter. She guided with expertise over and under fallen logs and reminded me to watch where I stepped while portaging around obstacles. My safety was always at the forefront of her mind.

I have also been on group paddles and Julie is mindful to everyone’s needs and at the end of the day I had made new friends, laughed, worked out, and had a great time.

I am still kayaking with Julie and Sassy Sister’s and couldn’t imagine a better time."
